Hi,
After few days of searching for information about performance and stability impact when using SSD disks with vmware i have decided to buy 4 disks of Intel SSD Pro 5400s (480GB). Now i have some doubts if i made the proper decision.
Server configuration:
HP DL 360 G8
128 GIGA
2 x cpu 2670
4 x disks of Intel SSD Pro 5400s (480GB) in raid 5 ( or raid 10).
can i use those disks with vmware ?
does the disk need to be in the HCL list or it is only a recommendation ?
can i run those disks quietly knowing that it will run with no issues?
any advice would be appreciated
thank you
Ori
It should be in HCL list. It is always recommended to run vmware production environment as per their recommended compatibility. So that you will not run into any issues. If at all any issue vmware support will assist.
The disks must be supported by the SCSI controller of the server.
My recommendation is to download the iso of custom vmware to hp. Because it already comes with all the drives and firmware of the own hpe.
