Can I update only the hpsa driver

Hi All,

 I have a ProLiant DL360 Gen10 with ESXi 6.7 installed, wanted to know if I can update only the hpsa drivers

Hi @nbgiridar ,

If you have an updated compatible driver from HP for ESXi 6.7, you can update the driver via command line

Installing async drivers in ESXi 5.x/6.x/7.x using esxcli

Have you provided the necessary checks from the HP official site?

thank you, HP do have an update driver 

HP - smartpqi-1.0.4.3008-1OEM.670.0.0.8169922.x86_64.vib

Installed - 1.0.1.553-10vmw.670.0.0.8169922

but i noticed that there is a difference, HP one says OEM and the existing one says vmw

please advise

Hi @nbgiridar ,

vmw is the inbox driver that is loaded along with ESXi image and the OEM driver is provided by hardware vendor. In this case, hardware vendor is HP.

You can use inbox driver or OEM as long as they are compatible with the hardware(HPSA). Please refer the KB article shared earlier to install the driver using esxcli
