I'm wondering if I can use the (Fixed) path policy for iSCSI and be able to have multiple paths be Active at the same time. The idea being that I could have 4 NICS on the host and 4 NICS on the NAS and end up with 4 active paths for a total throughput of 4gbs. Instead of Round Robin which just cycles between each NIC and only gives me at most 1gb of throughput.
Hi,
You can use round-robin instead of fixed policy, also read this blog post: Another look at ESXi iSCSI Multipathing (or a Lack Thereof) | Cody Hosterman
My problem with Round Robin is that only one path is active at a time so my throughput is limited as a result. I have 4x 1gb NICs and I was hoping to have 4 active fixed paths that are all running at the same time and as a result give me 4gb of throughput.
