Can I do anything to increase USB passthrough compatibility?

I'm trying to get a USB device working on a guest operating system.

ESXi 5.0 detects the device and allows me to pass it through but it just doesn't work properly in the guest operating system.

Is there anything I can do increase compatibility or anything else I can try?

It looks like there is nothing you could try to configure or tune to make this work. At least nothing documented.

For general information and guidelines refer to Supported USB device models for passthrough from an ESX or ESXi host to a virtual machine.

You might have more luck by attaching the device via an USB over IP solution through the IP network.
