Hello Guys,
I have to release some space in a storage, and for that works properly, I followed the following steps:
1 - I Created a new Datastore in other storage.
2 - I did a storage migration from the old Datastore to the new one.
3 - Delete the old VMDATA.
In this point, I have stuck, because the old Datastore is not empty... There´s a strange folder inside it, but I am not sure if I can delete it, as you can see at the picture below.
The question is: Can I delete this Datastore? The UID showing in the picture, is the same UID from the LUN that I want to deleted.
I am using VMWARE ESXi 5.1 Enterprise Plus Edition.
Regards,
Roberto
the dotted folder and files are normally for metadata of the datastore itself.
so you can delete the datastore without no problem.
btw. if you delete a datastore and it's still in use by a VM the delet-job will be canceled. there is a little bit security programmed
