Can ESXi5 access storage over USB3 or eSATA?

I am planning to use iSCSI to my NAS, but it also support USB3 at 5Gbps and eSATA, I wonder if I could use that instead.

Thanks Smiley Happy

USB as a Datastore to ESXi for VMFS partition is still not supported.

But you can use USB disk for the virtual machine through USB passthrough, but make sure the USB is in supported list of VMware .

If your system has SATA and it's accessible by ESXi, then you can use an eSATA to SATA adapter, http://www.startech.com/Cables/Drive/eSATA/2-port-SATA-to-ESATA-Slot-Plate-MF~ESATAPLATE2

eSATA as also external SAS box works if the controller is supported by ESXi.

Check in the HCL.
