CPU /memroy hot add feature in LINUX

HI,

I am using vmware vsphere environmen for my virtualization. i have enterprize license. i am able ti use cpu/memory hot add feature in windoiws 2003 ent edition and able to enable it from virtual machine settings. BUt same thing is not visible under linux virtual machine setting .

Can you please help me out.

Hot-add is supported on certain Linux distributions, and only in 64-bit mode KB 1007275. SLES11 and Ubuntu are two I have read to work.

As far as Iam aware hot add mem/cpu is not supported on linux only windows:

*Aparently it is supported in kernel 2.6.14 and above.
