CPU Socket Configuration

Hi,

I am trying to configure a VM with 1 Virtual Socket with 8 Cores.

The Physical Machine has 2 CPU (8 cores on each) physical server (16 Cores in total, 32 with HT).

When I set the Number of CPUs to 8 and the Cores Per Socket to 8, it sets the number of Sockets to 1.

Does this mean I've created 1 Virtual Socket with 8 Cores?

CPU = 8

Cores Per Socket = 8  Sockets:1

Thanks

Yes, in ESXi the Cores per Socket setting divides the number of configured vCPUs into Multi-Core vCPUs.
