CDP Information is not available

Hi ,

I was wondering if someone can help?

Today one of the NICs failed to connect and gave the statis CDP information is not available

VMware KB: Broadcom 5719/5720 NICs using tg3 driver become unresponsive and stop traffic in vSphere

This is a fix for trhe broadcom 5719 and 5720s that use the tg3 driver, however our NIC is a 5704. Do you think it still applies as they use the same driver?

Hi,

Possibly - you might try the workaround from the KB article and if that proves positive upgrade the driver on one host or a test system if you have one? Also see if there's a recommended firmware version to use in conjunction with the driver.

yes, its applicable for 5704 as well. See Broadcom download page.
