BusyBox Version in ESX4i

What is the busybox version in ESX4i?

Can I expect that version of busybox to change from one update to the next?

thanks!

The current version is:

~ # busybox
BusyBox v1.9.1-VMware-visor-klnext-2965 (2010-04-19 12:53:48 PDT) multi-call binary

You shouldn't expect busybox to remain perfectly constant through time.  It will likely be updated and Vmware has added/removed commands over time.

The version in ESXi is behind current versions. You can download the opensource components that are included in the console.http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_vsphere_4/4_0#open_source It shows the patches and changes that were made to the version included with ESXi. Since the earlier versions of ESXi are also listed you can check out what changes have been made over time.

Here's more details if you wanted to know about Busybox version in ESXi:

The version of Busybox has been 1.9.1 since vSphere 4.0, it hasn't changed as they're using a heavily modified version in which they've provide their own code updates to. So to track the version, you may get an idea of the core code but there's lots of updates that VMware will do from release to release, if you take a look at the OSS, the patch contains just a few of the updates for that particular release. Also note the OSS version hasn't been updated, so what you se there is from an extremely old release of ESXi, since then I'm sure more updates have been applied.
