Bug in ESXi 5.5U1 with duplicate HBA aliases?

I have opened a ticket twice with VMware about the but with the Host Profiles being unable to be created with 5.5U1 because the host has duplicate aliases for HBAs. Engineering keeps saying the fix is end of the year and there is no work around. This pretty much renders host profiles worthless, and I am surprised it is not getting addressed sooner. Anyway have any workarounds they might have stumbled on? Thanks!

some times bug cannot be fix rights away ,thats why they conformed that next release will resolve ,

I just need to see if I can fix the duplicate aliases myself, and how they came about. These were clean installs of 5.5. So kind of odd.

I applied the ESXi 5.5 patches that came out a couple of days ago, and I can now create a Host Profile. Looking at my ESX.conf file I see the duplicate HBA alias are gone.
