Brocade 815 fibre cards not showing in storage adapaters section?

Jump to solution

Hi All,

We have just purchased two new Dell r620 servers from dell with two Brocade 815, Single Port 8Gb Fibre Channel cards in them.  I am struggling to get them to show up in the storage adapters section of the vSphere configuration (5.5 update 1).  At first I though this may of been because they have were disabled in the server.  I went into the BIOS and enabled them now but still nothing.

Anyone any ideas as I'm running short on ideas!

Thanks in advance

try downloading the following driver and install it. As per the VMware HCL this is the driver for Brocade 815.

VMware vSphere 5: Private Cloud Computing, Server and Data Center Virtualization

In the boot.log file, do you find any messages related to unable to allocate MSI-X vectors for devices 0a:01 or something in similar.

All sorted by adding the driver.  Worked fine after a reboot.
