I made and attempt to convert a virtual machine running windows server 2008 r2 over to the ESXi platform which has worked for many virtual machines up until this point. I ran the VMware converter from inside the VM and pointed it to the ESXi host. The conversion completed but upon starting it, I get a “boot manager error, 0xc0000225”. To troubleshoot so far I have tried running a chkdsk /f which did not solve anything, as well as running the startup recovery but it fails with the message below.
Root cause found:
Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem
Repair Action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490
Time taken = 452886ms
Is anyone encountering a similar issue or can anyone help me out on this?
