Boot bank problem

Bank 5: invalid configuration

Bank 6: not a Vmware boot bank

Anybody having an idea what the boot process is looking for?

Both banks are OK, as far as I can tell (USB installed ESX5i, so can stick it in Linux machine & read just fine)

I've just got the same error while rebooting ESXi 5 that has been running from a usb drive for months.

I've reinstalled to the same USB drive but get the same error.

I think I will try another USB drive.

I found that once the key "goes" it is easier to use different key, as this one keeps giving the error (even after low lever reformat)

Still, would be nice to know from Vmware WHAT makes this error happen 9and HOW to avoid it) - obviously I was NOT the ONLY case, thanks!

A re-install to a new usb key has fixed the issue.

Which IMHO is a workaround, NOT a solution!

It happen once, it will happen again!

The key which stopped working as ESXi boot, works perfectly fine booting ie Mac OS X Lion (which means the key is fine!)

Hi, We have just had the same problem. In our case it was resolved by updating the ilo firmware. We had updated the firmware through HP SUM but it did not automatically updated the ilo.

We went from 1.22 to 2.30.

Hope it helps.
