The crash is reported rom a device VID:8086, DID:2f06. 8086 is the vendor ID of Intel. The device ID 2f06 looks like is the PCI Express device for Haswell CPUs.

It might be as what the message suggests a hardware problem. What hardware/card is installed in that slot 0000:00:02.2?

Version : 6.7.0 Update 3 (Build 17098360)

Hardware : HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9

Changes made : There was a new VM created which then the PSOD happens

What triggers the error : We aren't quite sure, we rebooted the server and deleted the newly created VM and it has been running fine for now.

Troubleshooting you’ve already tried : I tried to check the core dump to see if i can find anything else useful which could give more information about the problem. Also made sure that the vmware esxi version supports the OS which was installed on the new VM.
