Best practices for creating a sandbox

Would like to create a sandbox within an ESX 4 server and would like to know the best practices for doing such. Thanks.

Depends on what you are trying to do - if you mean create an isolated test environment then you can do this very easily by creating a vSwitch and not assigning any physical NIC's to it. The VM's you would like to isolate can be connected to the vSwitch and they will not be able to communicate with any other Vm's except the ones you connect to the vSwitch.

As there is no LAN connectivity, a user would need the VMware client or delegated access via vCenter to access the VM.s.

Don't forget to leave points for helpful/correct posts.

There are no such "Best practices".

As already was said if you want real sandbox, without communication with outer LAN - just create vSwitch with no physical uplinks and create VM Network on this switch.

You also can use resource pools to manage resources for different VM groups.
