Hello All,
I would like to know the benefits of upgrading virtual hardware to version 10 for ESXi 5.5 VMs. I have installed ESXi 5.5 and licensed it using the free license for my testing and evaluation.
I know once you upgrade the VM's virtual hardware to version 10 you cannot use the vSphere Client 5.5 to edit the VM settings and can only be done using the web client.
What advantages/benefits would it bring to the VM after upgrading the virtual hardware to version 10?
What if I keep the VM virtual hardware to version 8 only, are there any downsides to that?
