Ballooning

I have some questions around ballooning

I have a server which keeps ballooning, I checked the host and its not even using 50% of its RAM, there are no reservations set on the server and were not using any shares. I added more vRAM and the balloon driver stopped ballooning.

My understanding was the balloon drive kicked in when the host doesn't have enough resources free but I have 50% of RAM free. Am I wrong on this?

Have you any limits configured for the VM? That is usually what is causing this.
