maybe any of you have an Idea about a Possible Reason. i'am out of Ideas.
following.
recognized that on my last Esxi Hosts. as for a Rackmove i had to move vm's to locally instead of San. Also had to replace locally Disks with more better SAS. (had SATA before)
having
- x3550 M4 with E5-2690
- M5110 ServeRaid
- 4x ST900MM0006 Raid5
So i reinstalled first one with 5.5 latest Update and moved vm's on it.
First Host: Got >100 Mbyte/s and lower then 5ms disk latency. (currently running more then 100 vm's on it, still low latency)
Second Host: Exactly same Hardware. Started same with 2 svmotions. And bäm got only 20mbyte and Disk latecy raised over 20ms.
Something is strange. Exactly same HW and having Issues on 2nd Host
i inspected today whole Day. and analyzed the Disks Firmware. i saw on good ones are (4x 0003 Version). and on the bad ones are (2x0003 and 2x0004). so mixed Version.
Do you think that such a Mixed Firmware in a Raid5 could cause such a bad Performance? as for sure there is something wrong.
opend next to it a Vmware Ticket, if they have a Kind of Idea.
