we have major performance problems on all our VMs in the Cluster on ftp download, while upload speed is fine.
Running ESX 4.1 with Update 1, all VMWare Tools updated. Tried to switch ESX Hosts, tried different Switches, tried different VMs and now im clueless.
Compared to my physikal PC in the same VLAN or any other VLAN, when downloading .e.g Linux ISOS from public Places we get around 4-6 MB/s on the VM but 10-25 mb/s on any other physikal PC from Gigabit sources. Upload speed is fine though, its just download via FTP. Even tried Web Download Test sites like speedmeter or so, giving me around 280Mbit Download, showing that LAN tranfers from CIFS or Web Downloads are fast. its just FTP that is slow.
Any ideas ?
