Backups slower after upgrading from ESXi 5 to ESXi 5.5

Using Backup Exec 2012 - nothing changed with that server as far as updates, drivers, firmware, backup jobs, etc.

We upgraded from 5.0 to 5.5 and my throughput rates have decreased substantially.  Most of my jobs were averaging around 3000MB/min with some running as high as 6000MB/min.  After the upgrade I am now seeing closer to a 2000MB/min average with a max around 4000MB/min.  I upgraded all VM machine versions and tools.  In trying to troubleshoot I updated all drivers and firmware on both ESXi hosts and backup server.  I ran all Windows updates on all VMs and the backup server.  Still no improvement.  Nothing changed with the hardware setup/configuration when we upgraded to 5.5.  Im stumped here.  Any thoughts?

Here is a graphical representation of my throughput rates.

Hi,

What is version of your Backup Exec?

Based on this link information: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH205351

vSphere 5.5 is supporting by Backup Exec 2012 SP3 and later.

A few things:

Make exclusions for the Backup Exec processes from AV scans

Fully update the media server and push out the updated agent to the remote servers

Update all firmware (drivers, Nics)

what is the speed comparison if you copy and paste data between servers?

Are you backing up to tape or disk?
