Backup Drive Help?

In my production lab I have 5 VM servers win 2008 on ESXI 5.0 host hardware is 3 blades  I want to back up my VMware Virtual atmosphere I have connected a 6TB usb drive how do I attach it so I can back up all of my blades/nodes since there are VM server on each node/blade?

Also what backup software do you all recommend Veeam seems to expensive Unitrends not so happy what about Storage crafts backup solution anyone use that ?

I think, Veeam Backup free edition is best choice for you.

You can create another VM and install Veeam on it and mount your USB drive to the machine as a repository.

Then you can take backup and storing them on USB drive.

Thanks for your reply I am want to get a paid version of something to have full backups of everything the veeam is to expensive any other ideas?

VDP is built in to most vSphere licensing models (vSphere Plus Kit or higher) , so that might be a "free" option for you
