BL460C G7 & vSphere multiple blades

Hello Community,

We looking to purchase BL460c G7 1/2 blades.  I would like to configure vSphere to see those 4 blades as one server to take advantage of the resource allocation to VM's.  Is this possible?  Anyone have any experience with smashing blades together to represent one super server in vSphere?

Thanks in advance,

PB

No, that's not possible. You can however create a cluster with the 4 ESXi hosts using vCenter Server and then use DRS to load balance the workloads on the blades if you have shared storage

I believe the smashed version is  called a DL980 G7

The whole idea is to spread the workloads across the hosts using the automation resources built into vSphere rather than a single monolithic resource.
