I have three instances running on an esxi server that provide personal web services amongst other things. It's important to me that the websites stay up. Power is pretty clean where the server is installed, but there is an occasonal hiccup. The esxi server comes up fine but the instances appear to remain down. I've looked through the configs and the help widget and haven't found the answer yet.
How do I configure esxi so that certain instances are automatically booted when the hardware is rebooted? Thanks.
I don't have an ESXi Host in front of me, but you can set the startup/shutdown options for VM's under the configuration tab and startup/shutdown virtual machine. In the top right hand corner you will see an "edit" or "properties" link. There you will be able to configure your options.
Perhaps this image will help with Troy's recommendation which is spot on.
