AutoDeploy adds the ESXiHost with the IP Address instead of the FQDN

Hi all,

I had setup AutoDeploy in a vCenter Server in the domain alpha.company.com where the ESXi Hosts should be managed and the ESXiHosts are in another domain and network zone beta.company.com. In the domain alpha there is a DNS Forwarder to domain beta.

AutoDeploy adds the ESXiHosts with the ip address to the vCenter / Cluster instead of the FQDN.

I can add the ESXiHost manually with the FQDN with no problem and I can resolve the FQDN to the ip address from the vCenter Server via ssh.

Has anyone an idea, why AutoDeploy adds the ESXiHost with the ip address?

Solved the problem. The DNS Forwarder did not have a Reverse-Lookup Zone.
