Auto Deploy Core Dump Location for Stateless ESXi 5

Hi

I am currently trying to setup my ESXi 5 Auto Deployed Stateless hosts so that their syslog points to a VMware Syslog Collector Server but also configure the core dump location to a datastore due to our usage of VDS, and therefore I am unable to use vSphere Network Dump Collector. When I configure the syslog.global.logdir advanced configuration setting to the datastore location this overrides the syslog.global.loghost advanced setting and redirects all my log files to the datastore location.

Is there any way to have them go to seperate locations ( e.g syslogs to the syslog collector and the coredumps to the datastore location) or does this mean I will have to have my syslogs pointing to the dedicated datastore location so that core dumps will be collected?

Clear as mud?

Hey Gregg,

Not 100% sure if this answers your question but I'm pretty sure I have set both of these adv. options via PowerCLI script in the past. (on train now), but here is a link to the post I did in it.
