Anyone running ESXi 4 on DL145 G3?

I don't see ANY generation of the DL145's at all on the HCL. The G3's have the AMD Opteron 2200 series processors (Quickspecs). Anyone having success? Thanks

Have you tried it?

You may have problems with the drive controller if it doesn't have a hardware based RAID. I don't know whether it has support for hardware virtualization. AMD servers from HP were ahead of the Intel ones in virtualization suport but ???

Good question. I am looking at purchasing two of them to save on rackspace costs and intial out of pocket costs, but I don't have one to test with. The SAS/SATA models have an 8 Port Internal SAS HBA. My hunch is it will be fine, but you never know. We're running ESX 3.5 on DL385 G1' s just fine, because like you said, AMD was ahead of the game.
