Anti-Virus on vCenter

Is there a general recommendation for installing anti-virus on you vCenter server? Will this severely impact performance?

Thanks,

Scott

treat it as any other Windows OS. We install Anti-Virus Software on our vCenter Host OS's with no issues. Performance impacts in your will come from your DB instance, more than the Host OS in which vCenter is installed on, in my opinion

Thanks. Do you put any file/directory exclusions for scanning?

Each anti-virus vendor may have their own, as well as VMware may have some recommendations, however, I've never really searched for them. With that being said, we don't have anything specific to vCenter that we are excluding.

There is nothing on vCenter, everything is DB driven which is ODBC, so no exclusions are required.
