Another question: Is the OS version will be changed

If I installed Linux--Ubuntu 32 bit version when I created a VM, it didn't reflect the new updated version if I updated Ubuntu to version 12.0.4 My questions: Should it reflect the new version after update applied to the Linux server? Is it same scenario with Red Hat Linux?

You are talking about summary tab right? It will not show the version. It will just tell Ubuntu Linix(32 Bit).

Summary tab --that is correct. We want to see the upgraded version of ubuntu Linux but it won't reflect the upgraded version. Why? Vmware is designed that way for not showing the new upgraded version of Ubuntu linux?
