Am increasing C drive for XP VM, am getting below error while doing please help me.
The reason in this case is the IDE virtual disk. Increasing IDE disks is not supported from the vSphere Client.
Take a look at VMware KB: Converting a virtual IDE disk to a virtual SCSI disk to see whether this is an option for you.

Does the VM currently have any snapshots that are not committed to disk?
no snapshots
Please check the VM's settings and disconnect the CD-ROM if connected. If this doesn't help, please attach (using the Advanced Editor) the VM's .vmx file to a reply post.
no CD-ROM is connected? still am unable to do that
