Alarm-Host Hardware power Status

Hi All,

I am getting the red alert "Host Hardware power status" in Vsphere 4.0, what does these error means, can someone please let me know is it a hardware error, or any issue with the esx,

what should i do to remove that error to green or normal stage.

Hi raju,

EXSi server comes with the some of the inbuilt- alrams for the host state /performance monitoring

for more u can check

This warning would appear if you have hardware errors.

For example, if your host has 2 power supplies and you are only using one, or if one of your poswer supplies is faulty (or you have a loose cable connection etc)

It would be worth running a hardware diagnostic if you have your vendor's hardware tools.

If your server has a remote console like HP ILO, Dell DRAC, you could connect to this and view hardware status to check the problem.

Hi,


This alarm is related fonts the hardware if your host hardware has two specific sources check if the two are connected, if not this, make sure there is some fluctuation in the hardware if it is a blade, you can check the logs.

If the problem is not hardware may be in the sensitivity of the alarm. You can adjust the alarm sensitivity to suit your need.
