Ahmed123: How do I protect the vmdk file from being copied to another data store

Hi
Team, I have a question. Environment is esxi 5.1 , How do I protect the vmdk file of one of the VM from being copied to another data store. It has a critical data and no one should be allowed to copy that vmdk file. How do we accomplish this .

Regards

Ahmed

Use encryption inside the VM, thus encrypting the contents of the VMDK, rather than secuirng access to VMDK itself which is rather hard.  On boot, the VM would require you to enter your passphrase to continue. This protects this VM from other vCenter admins, and addresses the issue of connecting the VMDK to another VM.
