After vMotion some VMs loses network connectivity

Hi,

Recently we been upgrading our environment to 6.7 , at the same time we also patched/updated drivers and firmware to supported versions.

After this upgrade we have seen issues with VMs intermittent lose network connectivity after a vMotion.

The remedy is to manually migrate the VM to some other random host.

Environment :

ESX 6.7 U1

HPE C7000

BL460 Gen10

HPE FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 650FLB Adapter

HPE VC 4.62

We actually had the same problem a year ago and then we managed to solve this with using a specific combination of firmware/driver for the 650 adapter + Flex VC.

VMs intermittent loses network connectivity.

Combination we have to day where we do see the problem :

We have a case with both VMware and HPE , but it feels like they don't have a clue on how to solve this.

We have very standard hardware/setup so I think many people round the world must have the same problem as we do?
Maybe someone has a solution?

Regards

Johan

Hi

Identify currently running NIC Card Driver Version on ESXi Host with below esxcli command line.

esxcli network nic get -n vmnic0

Hi Diego,

Driver version is 12.0.1115.0  , which we have problems with.

We also tested 11.4.1255.0....

Do you any NSX / VShield running. I have seen such behaviour with Vshield manager and NSX few times...

Also what type of NICS are VM using.

Check which firmware version you're on.
