Adding a physical CPU to host

I have just had delivered a HP DL380 g8 with a single 6 core processor, the additional processor is on back order and should be here in about a week.  I was just wondering if I could install ESXi 5.5 and get the server up and running with some VM's now, and add the additional processor later or whether it would be better to wait?  If I can add the additional processor later is there anything I have to do in ESXi to make it visable/usable?

Done this myself. No problems at all. You do not have to do anything special after the HW upgrade.

It's no problem. Graceful shutdown and upgrading hardware will be auto-detected at the time of reboot.
