Adding SCSI adapter after the fact...

I have a virtual machine running SQL that was originally setup with all disks (OS, TempDB, Data, Logs) under one pvsci adapter. Can I power this system down and add additional scsi adapters for each of the current disks?

Yes, you can do this... but take in mind that the maximum number of SCSI adapter per VM is 4... and to avoid any problems with the boot disk, change only the SCSI adapter for the non-OS disks.

Yes, I am not modifying the OS drive/adapter and am aware of the limit. Just never done it after I already had a system setup and running and wanted another opinion. Thanks

A quick tip if you wish to change the adapter. In those cases, add a New disk With the New adapter, then it gets the drivers in Place after a reboot. Then you can remove the New temp disk and move over the old disks and remove the old adapter. This is very useful when changing to paravirtual adapters.
