Add uplink to an ESxi host

If I have an uplink part of an existing port group, and I remove it and add it to another port group, what is the impact if there is still redundancy on both port groups?  Will this potentially disrupt existing sessions?  What are the risks?

So you're saying vSwitch0 has more than 2 uplinks and you'd like to move one to vSwitch1?

Removing a NIC should not cause any downtime for the VMs.  However, you can go into the vSwitch properties.  Click on the vSwitch portgroup and click EDIT, Then go to the NIC TEAMING tab.  Choose the vmnic you want to remove and move it down to unused and click OK.  Then click OK again and let it make the change.  Then you can go in and remove it with no worries that it's in use.

Good luck.
