Add storage from second drive cage

Hi,

We want to expand our DataStore but can not add disks to our current drive cage.
I got suggested to purchase a second drive cage, buy some new disks and create another RAID 10 set and merge these 2 together.
But now I got told by someone else that combining two stores from different drive cages is not even possible.

Can anyone tell me what's the best way to go?

The server is a HP DL380 G7 and we're running VMWare 5

Perhaps your RAID controller supports this, but most don't. You could create a new Datastore and move some stuff from the one to the other.
