Add VM from shared storage to multiple hosts

Hi

I have a QNAP-NAS for NFS-datastore and 2 ESXi-hosts (without harddrives).

They are both configured to look at the NFS-datastore.

Now my question is:

Is it possible to add a virtual machine from this datastore to both inventories?

Or do I need vCenter for this?

I want the excact same virtual machine for both hosts, not copy1 for host1 and copy2 for host2.

Regards,

Soren

That is quite confusing, a virtual machine can be registered to one host only at a time. Can you care to elaborate your requirement a little bit.

Okay, I guess you answered my question Smiley Wink

I thought I could load the virtual machine into both inventories, and then when i powered on the machine on host1 then it would also be turned on at host2.
