Accidentaly deleted ESXI VMs Need a way to recover data

Hello,

I have 6 servers on which installed ESXi, those 6 servers get their storage from the storage system attached,

Now i accidentally changed the disks on the servers, which lead to the VMs not working,

Is it possible to rebuild the ESXi and attach the existing storage LUNs which contain the VM data ?

Hello,

If you still have the VMDK files, attach the storage to ESXi and register back the VM . You go to datastore, find the VMDK files along with VMX file, click on VMX file and you should have option to register VM.

Or you can create a new VM and attach the existing VMDKs to it.

Thanks for your quick reply, where can I find the VMDKs? actually, I only have the data that's on the storage system.

The plan is to create new VMs and attach the existing disks to it.

Thanks

attach datastore to ESXi, go to datastore tab from vcenter or esxi host client if you dont have vcenter, and there you should find the folders for each VM. Inside the folder you will have the VMDK and VMX files which you need.
