ASUS P5B Deluxe (Disabling O/B NICs, and putting PCI NICs in?

Hey Guys/Girls.

Quick question, hoping some one can answer it for me in the next 12 hours if at all possible.

I have a P5B Deluxe box here at home, and looking to run/play with ESXi on it, when attempting to build the ESXi OS, it tells me that the it needs a supported network card, as all that is there are the onboard NICs, I was wondering... Is it possible to buy a 3Com, or someting else, diable the onboard NICs and plug 2 NICs into the PCI ports, to over come the issue?

I'm looking at going down the a computer shop tomrrow, to source up something that will fit, any ideas?

(On a side not, I managed to install ESXi on my "gaming" machine which is a an EVGA 780i with 2 WD harddrives, but dont really want to give up my gaming box to play with ESX and have a spare machine sitting there)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

It is certainly possible to do what you want. You can have a look through the Hardware Compatibility list http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php under IO devices. You can also look through http://vm-help.com where you can find NIC that people have managed to make work. Intel GB NICs are a good choice.
