In regards to my attached file...
I'd like to know if it's possible to shutdown BOTH of my ESX servers only if BOTH UPS devices lose power.
Example...As I have it now, if UPS01 goes down, due to loss of power on its circuit, PowerChute will shut down ESXserver01; however, this is not desirable, because ESXserver01 still has power access to UPS02 (dual power supplies on each server).
This is the wrong way to run UPSs.
Purchase an APC ATS, let it handle the failover, and it will also tell your servers to shutdown only after both UPSs have failed.
I'm not sure but maybe with PowerChute for Windows (on a physical system) you can monitor both UPS.
If it works in the right way, then you can simple use apcupsd to connect to your PowerChute.

We have our APC's setup the same way and the software running on our ESX servers is aware that both need to fail before it will start the shutdown process.
Rightous! But do you have software installed on the actual VMware hosts, or are you using vMA or VIMA to monitor the UPCs?
Yes its installed directly onto the ESX4 hosts.
I used this blog posting-

You can google for the RPM.
