I'm running a cluster on 4.0 U2. With a Netapp 3170, running ontap 7.3.1 P2. On the weekend we had a outage planned and tried to enable ALUA on the igroup. Then, when we ran the netapp host utils on the ESX box and rebooted. It got stuck at "Starting Path Claiming and SCSI Device Discovery"
and didn't go any further for over 30 minutes. I tried this on a number of servers same thing.
I then had to turn off ALUA on the igroup and reboot.
I was able to bring the environment back up.
How ever is there a way to get ALU to work ?
I have logged a case with support and they suggest I go to ontap 8.01.
How ever this current version of ontap seems to support ALUA so it should work. Any ssuggestions.
