A general system error occured: Timed out waiting for vxpa to start

My vCenter server is 6.0 and I am trying to bring in a host with version 6.5 and I get the above error.

Do I need to down grade my host to v6.0?

Hello,

ESXi 6.5 hosts are not compatible with vCenter 6.0:

Even if this did allow it to be managed, you should never use a vCenter of a lower version than your hosts for management.

So either downgrade the host or upgrade the vCenter (vCenter 6.5 can manage hosts on ESXI 5.5 - 6.5).

vcenter version should be always higher than the esxi version. Please find the vmware interoperability matrix below.

I would recommend to upgrade the vCenter to 6.5. 6.5 is a major release with many bug fixes and new features.

I reinstalled ESXi v6.0 and that worked.
