2TB+ VMDK? How to...?

OK, maybe I'm stupid. But for the life of me, I don't understand this.

VMware says VMFS 5 supports up to 62TB VMDK.

Yet, when I build new 14TB datastore from SAN LUN with VMFS 5.60, max VMDK size is 2TB due to 1MB block size.

I am converting a 10TB file server share from a bare metal server to a VM and I really do not want to use Windows dynamic disks to span multiple volumes.

Help me understand this contradiction?

Are you trying this from VI-client or Web-client. What I remember is that, only Webclient allows you to create 2TB + VMdks. Can you check this and update

That was the ticket! Because of VUM and the suckiness of Adobe Flash, I still use the thick client a lot. Thanks!
