2 vmnic missing from host

I got a hp server that is missing 2 nic ports. but 2 other ports are available on the same card.

any idea? how do I know if the nics were disabled?

esxcfg-nics -l does not show vmnic4 and 5

vmkchdev -l | grep vmnic4

and vmnic 5 shows nothing

Happens when the driver is not supported or there is a mismatch. What ISO are you using? Have you tried the customized ISO?

Install ESXi with custom ISO Image by HP (Dell, Cisco UCS, Lenovo custom ISO's), if you have custom network card download drivers and integrate, if you have have PowerPath plug-in, fnic and vnic drivers (only for Cisco Blades), Cisco 1000v dvSwitch VEM can be integrated with ISO by using PowerCLI commands.

Download latest ISO image from HP and try to install it.

Thanks,

Np
