2 Standard Switchs On ESXi & vmknic

Hi Guys !

I have a very basic question about standard switch and vmknic. I know that if we have one NIC on an ESXi host we cant share it between two standard switches. If I create another standard switch without vmnic(Physical adapter) what about vmknic. New standard switch will share the vmknic with the first standard switch and provide communication between two standard switches or it will have separate vmknic with no communication between the standard switches. Thanks

Regards

If you want to have VMs on different vSwitches (or port groups) and want them to be able to communicate with each other, you need to have some sort of connection between them. In a virtual environment this can be achieved using a virtual machine which routes the traffic (e.g. pfSense).
