Problems after update-initramfs

I got a current image of RaspiOS as VM executable according to https://williamlam.com/2020/10/how-to-run-raspberry-pi-os-as-a-vm-on-esxi-arm.html. When I now install GlusterFS with apt install glusterfs-client, the VM hangs after the next reboot with kernel panic. I figured out that, when I install GlusterFS, it runs an update-initramfs. This changes the initrd.img-4.19.0-17-arm64 file. I suspect that the entries in the EFI are then no longer correct. If I set the EFI settings again with a rescue CD with install-grub / update-grub everything works again. What do I have to change in the BIOS (secure boot?) or in the Grub, so that this no longer happens?
