Windows 7 Aero and UEM

Has anyone been able to apply an Aero theme with UEM?  From my testing, UEM doesn't seem to restore the Aero glass effect on the taskbar and explorer windows.  The desktop background is preserved but window color and sounds are not.  Aero is supported and working on all View desktops if applied manually.

Hi,

in our Lab environment we missed to configure the "logoff" script .

Then all woks like expected. Even if you use the GPO Extension you need to configure the logoff script

Admin  Guide, page 31, 3.5.2

I already set the logoff script but good idea.  All other application settings are captured properly.  Within the user's UEM profile I can see registry items and files that make up the custom theme.  The theme is reapplied on login, but for some reason it's shown as an unsaved theme with no Aero.

Make sure to enable the UEM Group Policy Exension and to enable the policy 'always wait for network' as described in this quick install guide:

http://blogs.vmware.com/consulting/files/2015/04/VMW_15Q2_TD_User-Environment-Manager_042415_FINAL.p...

That way UEM starts in time and is able to manage the Aero theme.

Kind regards, Pim.
