User (Redirected) Downloads folder cleanup

We have quite a few remote users whose only reason to use VDI is to download files, since our VPN bandwidth is unacceptable (to them). So they establish a VPN connection from their laptop to our network, fire up the Horizon Client, log into VDI and commence their downloading.

I don't have an issue with this except once they download their files (usually ISO's), they just leave them in their Downloads folder instead of deleting them. We redirect this folder in DEM to external storage, and noticed it is chewing a lot of disk space.

I would like to run a script or something, preferably at logoff that would delete any files over 6 months old. Also, maybe do the same thing to their Recycle Bin.

Has anyone done something like this that can offer a solution that won't interfere with VDI performance? I suppose I could map a drive from an external server and do the same thing, but I would rather it be part of their session, and I'm not sure I could do that with their Recycle Bin anyway.
