UEM and Horizon Linux Desktop

Hope this is the right forum as I haven't seen this

is Horizon Linux Desktop supports UEM?

How others are doing a profile/persona management of Linux Desktops?

Hi Techstarts,

VMware UEM can only run on Windows desktops/servers.

I have only implemented Linux VDI desktops for developers who have a 1:1 mapping to the desktop and where profile/persona management is not necessary.

Thank you ijdemes.

  • Just after posting this message I learned there is no linked clone support.
    • You can only do Full clone. So with Full clone apparently persona management is unnecessary.
    • There is automated or Manual pool support

How did you address Home drive management? Dedicate File Server was created for these users?

They have an application that saves the data in a database. So everything was pretty straight forward. But home drive mappings or dedicated file shares can be shared with the "mount" command in Linux, if you need them.
